How does mobile identification work?

Mobile identification allows officers to verify a subject’s identity instantly at the scene using fingerprint and/or face capture from a secure biometric device. By securely routing biometric data to the FBI’s Repository of Individuals of Special Concern (RISC), the system performs a rapid “red light/green light” search against a specialized database of high-risk subjects. The same data is also routed to your state or county biometric database (AFIS/ABIS). From there, officers in the field receive near-instant alerts on wanted persons, registered sex offenders, known or suspected terrorists, and immigration violators, providing the critical intelligence needed to make informed safety decisions quickly and in the field.
